I often am challenged explaining my love of Los Angeles; the delicacy, beauties and intimacies you find in the city.
So many can find no peace in Los Angeles. Artist Cira Crowell has further opened my eyes to the beauty I see as humanity etches its mark on the concrete ‘cave drawings’ of the city.
Graffiti is simply another contemporary version of man making his mark on environment. Her perspective of human, through architecture, sidewalk scratchings, shadows and light are portraits of love, gentility, and honoring.
Cira shows in Robert Berman Gallery at Bergamot Station. When was the last time you went on an art date (with yourself)? Your heart will feel full afterwards, especially if you go view Cira’s elegant, intelligent, powerful work.
(I wanted to share a piece of her work, yet the gallery has done a fantastic job of making nothing downloadable. Trust me. Check out www.CiraCrowell.com).
